Justine Hoppe Director : Senior Legal Counsel
Justine joined Mazars Recovery and Restructuring in 2016 as a Senior Legal Counsel in the Business Rescue department. In May 2017 she was promoted to Director.
Justine is an attorney with 13 years of post-qualification experience.
She did her law articles with Weber Wentzel from 2002 – 2004 whereafter she practiced as an attorney in the litigation department until February 2007. While at Weber Wentzel she primarily practiced commercial litigation representing a number of large commercial clients including medical aids, banks and insurers.
In March 2007 Justine joined Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs in the Insolvency and Debt Recovery Department. In her 9 years with ENS she was involved in a wide range of insolvency-related litigation including liquidations, sequestrations, section 417 inquiries, impeachable disposition and undue preference actions and applications for the extension of liquidators’ powers as well as leave to borrow funds and sell assets. With the changing landscape, she has increasingly become involved in business rescue related work, which is now her primary focus.
During the course of her professional experience, she has acted for liquidators of companies, trustees of insolvent estates, banking institutions, listed companies and, to a lesser extent, private individuals.
Justine has extensive experience in trial and inquiry related work.
