Andries Batt Partner - Audit

Andries is an experienced Audit Partner. He has 19 years of financial services, retail and manufacturing experience with Big 4 firms, and has international experience in commerce at a large investment bank in London.

Andries joined Mazars as a partner in 2011 after spending most of his career at Deloitte, Ernst & Young and JP Morgan in London.

Experience

Andries obtained his Honours Degree in Accounting and Auditing from the University of Stellenbosch and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in 2000 after completing his articles at Deloitte.

Andries gained international experience working as a consultant to Canada Life Assurance Company and JP Morgan in London for two years. Andries also gained commercial experience in South Africa as general manager at Medscheme from 2003 to 2006.
Andries also qualified as a Chartered Financial Analyst® and has over 20 years of financial services experience, which includes audit and advisory services to some of South Africa’s largest investment managers, investment funds and insurance companies. Andries has been responsible for internal control reviews and risks assessments for large third party administrators and asset managers, which includes Service Organisation Control Reports (ISAE 3402).

His financial services experience includes audits of and advisory services to some of South Africa’s largest investment managers, collective investment schemes, investment funds, retirement funds, medical aid schemes, insurance companies and control reviews (ISAE 3402) for service organisations.
