The Little Prince : Theater Production sponsored by Mazars
We’re thrilled to announce that Mazars is the proud sponsor of the Little Prince Theater Production.
Originally written in French, The Little Prince is the world's most translated book, outside of religious works. Sometimes described as the story of a grown-up meeting his inner child, it is a philosophical contemplation of loneliness, friendship, adulthood, and authority.
The Little Prince tells the story of a little boy who leaves the safety of his own tiny planet to travel the universe, learning the vagaries of adult behavior through a series of extraordinary encounters.
The concept for this production is not to create a piece of children's theatre, but rather a magical re-telling of the story in an African context.
With all its universal appeal. The fantastical elements of the story - traveling from planet to planet, crashing in the middle of the Sahara Desert, will be captured through elements of circus and music, creating a wonderful world for adults and children alike.
The French Institute of South Africa, in collaboration with The Market Theater Foundation, guarantee’s a high-quality production that will tour the country in order to reach a broad audience.
We feel confident that this collaboration and production will contribute to the fledgling careers of young theatre-makers, building a bridge between graduates’ and their professional careers and therefore helping to sustain the rich history of performing arts in South Africa.
Please join us in supporting the performing arts by coming to view these amazing performers in action!
