Leon Fourie has been a Partner with Mazars since March 1993. He has been joint managing partner of the Port Elizabeth office since 2004.Leon has served on the National Board of Partners of Mazars South Africa since 2010 and on the National Executive Committee of Mazars South Africa since 2012.
Leon’s career commenced with Mazars in 1987 as a Trainee Accountant and after a successful traineeship, qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990. During his training, he gained valuable experience in audit and accounting work for medium to large owner-managed entities.
After his traineeship was competed in 1990, Leon spent two years at the South African Revenue Services in their Special Investigations division. Leon returned to Mazars in July 1992 and was promoted to partner in 1993 at the age of 26.
Leon’s client portfolio includes medium to large private sector audits, accounting and tax services for small to medium businesses and consulting to high net worth individuals. These include clients in various sectors of the economy, including FMCG, Medical Service, Legal Services, Manufacturing, Wholesalers and Retailers.
